TATTOO AFTERCARE

Taking proper care of your fresh tattoo is key in regards to ensuring the longevity of your new ink. Follow these easy steps below so your tattoo heals well!

* Important Note * Some people are allergic to the adhesive used for the second skin bandage. If so follow the dry heal aftercare otherwise follow the second skin after care

How do I know if I'm allergic to the second skin adhesive?

If you are allergic to the second skin adhesive you will notice a red rash/irritation in the areas covered by the second skin that have not been tattooed. Look at the edges of the bandage. If you see what looks to be a red rash, bumps or blistering, its best to remove the bandage and follow the dry heal instructions

SECOND SKIN AFTERCARE

  1. Keep the original bandage on for 24 hours from the time it is put on at your appointment.

  2. After the first night (or 24 hours from the end of your session) take the bandage off and gently wash your tattoo with UNSCENTED SOAP ONLY (dove unscented soap bar OR dial handsoap is a good option)  and room temperature water (not hot, not cold)

  3. Pat dry with PAPER TOWEL ONLY, DO NOT use toilet paper or a bath/kitchen towel.

  4. Apply a new second skin bandage and keep on for 3-5 days

  5. After the 3-5 days peel off the second skin in the shower to allow the water to help you remove the bandage

  6. Pat dry with paper towel only and apply a thin layer of unscented lotion (lubriderm unscented lotion is a great choice.)  Be sure to use a very thin layer of lotion do not oversaturate the tattoo with the lotion. The tattoo needs to breathe so do not go overboard.

  7. * DO NOT PICK SCABS OR SCRATCH YOUR TATTOO *

  8. * DO NOT WORKOUT FOR 1 FULL WEEK AFTER YOUR TATTOO *
